The first step in the process is hopping on the phone to get to know each other and chat about your brand. Click the link at the bottom to book a date and time that works from you. During this time, you can ask any questions you may have. I will have a few for you, too!
Contract + Deposit
Once we've had a chance to chat and you've decided you want to move forward, we'll both need to sign my design contract before we begin working together. This will ensure that we are both fully protected and avoid any confusion.
Next, to secure your spot in my schedule you'll need to pay a non-refundable 50% deposit before the project start date. I require a deposit because it shows that we are both serious about this partnership and committed to seeing this project through to the end. The remaining 50% is due when the project is complete, but before the files are handed over.
I will add you to my project management system, Asana. This is where we will communicate, keep track of tasks, and share files and feedback. It's free, easy to use, and I'll provide you with a quick video tutorial on how to use it.
Before I can begin designing, I'll need you to fill a Pinterest board with inspiration and complete an in-depth brand discovery questionnaire. This will give me a good idea of what style will match perfectly with your brand.
At this time, if your project includes web design, I'll need you to upload all of your web copy and photos into a Dropbox folder. This content should be arranged into subfolders according to the page they will be going on.
The project begins with the creation of a mood board. The mood board uses images and a color palette to summarize your brand's aesthetic. I'll use it to stay consistent while I'm designing, and you can use it later to stay consistent when implementing your new branding.
Once your mood board is complete, I will get to work on 3 logo concepts for your main logo. You'll choose which one you like the best, and then I'll refine it over 2 revision rounds based on your feedback. When your main logo is complete, we will move on to the alternate logo.
Your brand board will be a visual representation of your new branding as a whole. It will include all elements of your brand including the main logo, alternate logo, suggested fonts, color palette with hex codes, and your mood board. The brand board is a great guide moving forward and implementing your new designs.
If your package includes marketing items, this is when we'll begin designing those. Your marketing items can include: business cards, letterheads, web graphics, thank-you notes, branded email signature, social media templates, blog templates, one-page PDF worksheets (for opt-in freebies), whatever you need! I'll ask you during our phone call which items you think will be useful to your brand.
If your package includes web design, this is the point where we'll get started. First I'll create a mockup of each webpage. This will let us focus on the structure and layout before we get into adding in all of the content and branding. After you've approved the layout, I'll get with all of the fun stuff like colors, fonts, photos, and copy. You'll have two rounds of revisions to make sure everything is perfect.
After the project is complete, you'll need to complete your final payment via the invoice I send you. When the payment is complete, I'll sent you the link to a Dropbox folder containing all of your finalized brand files.
What happens after the consultation?
If you decide you want to work with me, you'll pay a non-refundable 50% deposit to secure your spot in my schedule and you'll need to sign my contract. After that's done, I'll get you booked in!
